The Sword of the Spirit (114)

The sword of the Spirit is the word of God.  And today, these powerful passages of scripture touched my heart of hearts:

"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."

Jesus said, "Father, if Thou art willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Thy will be done."

Isaiah the prophet calls Jesus Christ, Mighty God, co-eternal and co-equal with God the Father.  The Apostle Paul tells us numerous times that we are adoptive sons of Almighty God through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.  Does that not make Jesus our adoptive big brother and our role model?

Indeed, conviction and surrender are components of our faith.  Conviction: an unwavering belief that can't be persuaded otherwise.  Surrender: submission of our will to the will of our Father.
