The Sword of the Spirit (109)

The sword of the Spirit is the word of God.  And today, these powerful passages of scripture touched my heart of hearts:

A lawyer asked Jesus a question, testing Him, "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?"  

And He said to him, " 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.'

"This is the great and foremost commandment.  And the second is like it, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'

"On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."

The Apostle Paul said, "For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' "

The Apostle John said, "Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God; and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him.

"By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments."

Therefore when we love our neighbor, it is understood that we love God with all our heart, soul, and mind.
