Billy Graham: An Ambassador of God

Billy Graham's crusades were a modern day manifestation of the Holy Spirit, transforming people's lives forever.

He preached to over 100 million people in person, and that didn’t include television audiences.  His crusades were staged worldwide which included the often inaccessible Eastern Bloc, communist countries.  He was invited to speak at a 1982 peace conference in Moscow, where a religious person was considered an enemy of the state; after the collapse of the Soviet Union, he held a Moscow crusade in 1992. His 1990 Hong Kong crusade was beamed by satellite across Asia to an estimated 100 million people.  The final day of his South Korean crusade was attended by 1.1 million people.

The following is a brief synopsis of the timeless message he proclaimed to millions of people around the world:

I believe you're here by divine appointment.  I believe this is your night with Almighty God.

You never heard Jesus say I think this is the way or perhaps this is the way.  He always said emphatically, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through me.”

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Almost everybody has experienced loneliness; they've experienced sin that they are sorry for; there are people who are afraid; and there are people who are hungry for something to believe in NOW.

From the cross, God is saying to the whole world, "I love you, and you, and you..."

And all He asks of you is to come and surrender your life to Him, and believe in Him, and repent of your sins, and change your way of life.

Billy told Americans that he couldn't save anyone.  He was just an ordinary messenger of the kingdom of God.  When he flew overseas, he declared that he came as a representative of the kingdom of God.  He hadn't come as an American; he represented a higher court than the White House.  He was an ambassador of the King of kings and the Lord of lords and he came in that spirit, as God's representative.  And Billy was convinced that the word of God had the power to pierce men’s hearts, no matter what their nationality, so they could come to Christ and accept Him through faith, as their Lord and Saviour.

"For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart."
