The Sword of the Spirit (79)

The sword of the Spirit is the word of God.  And today, these powerful passages of scripture touched my heart of hearts:

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

"And His eyes are a flame of fire, and His face is like the shining sun in all its brilliance.  He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood; and His name is called The Word of God.

 "And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us.  He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him.  But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become sons of God, even to those who believe in His name.

"The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.”

The only way to God the Father is through His Son Jesus Christ.  Jesus doesn’t say “I am a way” but rather “I am the way”.

We are all under the sentence of death; we're all going to die.  And we all need to be ready to stand before God.

Jesus came to die on a cross.  And on that cross, He bore our sins and shed His blood for each one of us.  For we are all sinners.

Jesus calls us to repent of our sins and come to Him by faith.  Have you surrendered your life to Jesus?  Have you repented of your sins?

We don’t have long.  This very day, our soul could be required of us.  And the decision you make today may determine where you’ll spend eternity...
